SA22C production dates?

Anyone know the first month/year that they were produced?

I've got a '78 SA22 that's kinda rough but has solid rear fenders, I want to cut them out and put them in my '83 FB... but then someone mensioned that I shouldn't because it might be an early car.. build date according to the drivers side sticker is 04/78.

According to Victoria british the production started in 3/78

Mine is 8/78. The rear fenders on the SA do not have marker lights on them. Just saying, I didn't relize this until I had my SA and FB side by side.

That is a very early Car, I would not cut it up, I would put it back together using the 83 if necessary.

Does it still have the right hand hood prop?

I didn't even notice it with my buddies SA sitting right beside my FB, nor did he. My 13 year old son did..........

yes it still has the right hand hood prop! stupidest idea ever. :) I see why it's there though, they were just lazy (or forgot!) that we get out of the car on the other side.

really though, if you have to work on the carb or whatever you're on that side of the car anyways so I guess you can just open the hood when you get over there.

it's April/78... I took a TON of pics of the rust on the '83, they'll be in the other thread or a new one shortly.

I don't really want to fix the car... or even own it! lol. I want a GSL-SE. I'd trade it AND the '83 for a non-running -SE or even an '84 or '85 with SE suspension. hehe.

BUT if it is a rare bird, I would hate to cut it up.. I'll probably sell it asis. It's got some body rust but the fenderwells aren't bad! seems most SA22's are this way as well. The engine seems to be decent but the carb needs a rebuild and the brakes need work. Only 55,000 miles (90,000KM) on it.

think it has a hole in the floor too and a fender is FUBAR. Interior is black, seats are destroyed.

I've got another SA22 as well, see mods in sig:

here's the pic of the vin, and the car from behind.

I have an 11/78 with number 5294XX. My wife has a 9/78 I will check it after work today.

well it looks like this is car number 3158 then....

hrmm.

now I don't know what to do with the damn thing!

anyone want to buy it? lol.

Too bad it's not younger. I'd jump on a decent 79.

Terrh 08-23-05 10:13 AM

what's the difference?
I wouldn't call this car decent anyways, if you wanted it (to fix up) I'd make you a good deal. :)
