SA Guage, wipers, fan, idiot lights not working

Hi,

I finally fired the 12A in my 79 SA this past weekend. The car had been sitting for about 6 years some mmo and ATF has freed the engine and it is running.

When I first got it running I had tach, guages, idiot lights, wipers etc. Other than the Tach reading 5000 rpm at idle, and I had a low oil light and low coolant light (which were both full) it seemed to be running pretty good all things considered.

I shut the engine off and several hours later returned to start again to find the lights had gone out and the tach had settled down to about 800 rpm. Great it's heeled it's self! :rlaugh: So, I killed the engine and started the engine to see if it would again return to normal. Nope, now I have no gauges, no idiot lights, no wiper, no fan, blinker, etc. I do have power to the lights and headlight motors.

I'm guessing fusible link? Any other suggestions?

Thanks again to all who have helped get this original owners first new car back and running again.

SA's tach is also a volt meter. As usual, start with the obvious parts such as battery teminals, cables and fusible links.

Ok,

I've installed all three fusible links under the hood with Buss FLF-30 and FLF-60 amp fusible links.

I've got headlights and headlight motors, dome light, no blinkers, fan, tach, fuel gauge etc.

Where are the fusible links located under the dash?

Thanks,
Kris

fuse box under the dash is located by the hood release, check those.

After cleaning all battery connections, and fusible links. I started testing the fuse block with a test light. Found that several fuses where not conducting power.

I replace all fuses with new and I've got everything back.
