SA Flywheel question for 5 speed swap
 

I am planning to swap the auto trans in my 79 for a 5 speed from an 80.

All the threads I have read about this go into great detail, but say I should get a lightweight flywheel.

That's out of my price range right now, so I was wondering if I can just take the flywheel off the 80 donor?

Then, just use that flywheel, get a new pilot bearing, and use the rest of the parts off the 80, after removing the 79's flywheel and flexplate?

Based on many search results, but none that were SA specific, this is my shopping list from the donor:

1) '80 Five speed transmission with shifter
2) Complete pedal set
3) Shifter surround
4) Flywheel and clutch set
5) Shift fork
6) Clutch master and slave, with associated lines
7) Wiring for the backup lights
8) Starter? - is this really different?
9) Starter harness?

New parts:
1) Pilot bearing
2) Pilot bearing seal
3) Clutch set as needed - I don't mind replacing a clutch in a few hundred to thousand miles, if needed.

Am I missing anything?

Starter from an auto is larger from the non-auto. harness should be the same since there are only 2 wires in addition to the battery cable.

You need the driveshaft also.

If the donor car has been sitting for any length of time, at least use a new or rebuilt clutch disk. These seem to not hold up very well after sitting unused for a while. Especially if they have stuck to the flywheel or presure plate.

I believe the 79 and 80 used the same rotors therfore should have the same balancing this would be the main issue to look at.
