S5 alternator? in 1st gen

I just received an 80 amp S5 alternator. After looking at many peoples pictures and diagrams, I have a question! Everyone seems to have an alternator looking like this.

My S5 has the plug going in at the top, not the back! It this just a manufactoring change? Eveything else is the same and it fits perfect.

The difference between the two is that the first pic is from a T2, while your's appears to be off an NA. There is no difference in the output or anything. I believe the plug difference was mainly due to the clearance needed for top mount intercooler on the T2 models.

The plug on mine was on the back but the actual connecting point was on the back left of it, really ackward for the wire....

Oh and by the way, dont drop the little nut off the connector into the engine bay...don't make me go there >:(
