Rubbing compound and leather treatments?
 

My car has some serious oxidization (some places it's pass oxidizing right down to the primer), I thought maybe some rubbing compound would be good to alleviate some of it. I bought Turtle Wax's Rubbing Compound (all the store had) and after reading the directions it says if you rub too hard it could remove the paint!

Sounds like it may be really abrasive stuff...Has anyone else tried it on a first gen?

Also I heard that saddle soap was good for dried out dirty leather (a perfect description of my leather seats). So I got some of that as well...now after searching the internet I see some people say it is the best to use, and others say it ruins leather...Has anyone tried it?

Stay away from rubbing compund, too abrasive, use something like tr3 resin glaze comes
in either a blue or green bottle. As far as the leather goes, pick up lexol's leather conditioner

I recently used Poorboy's SSR 2.5 and then SSR 1 on a black Grand Am and it worked wonders. If you're oxidized through to the primer though I don't think it'll help. 2.5 is certainly quite abrasive but I'm sure you could do it 4-5 times at least without having to worry.
