RPM limit?

Whats the RPM limit of these engines? 12a 13b?? How high can you spin it before somethan blows? What does blow on these? How much boost can they take? How much N/A power? Can they take NOS??? How much?? Im talking, stock engine pretty much here. Adam

12A rotary's are safe up to 10k maybe a little more, i don't know about the 13B. Nothing usually blows on n/a's you usually just lose apex seals, i don't know how much boost they can take, a 1st gen is 100hp stock and i know a dude@ the race track with a toyota spectrum with a 12A and a 75 shot of nos and he runs 7.33 in the 1/8 mile.
i'm sure the the other forum guys have more accurate info so they should help you out

A stock 12A won't spin to 10K w/o breaking. 8400-8500 is the max you would want to take a stock motor. However, unless you have an extend port, you won't really have much reason to take it up even that high.

You can get to 10K, but you have to make fairly extensive (although not as much as you would for a piston motor) internal modifications to the motor to take that kind of rpm (not to mention have some fairly serious porting -- at least a bridge port -- to make it worth going to 10K),

I took my stock 12A with a highflow Cat up to 9K rpms on the dyno. But as mentioned before, there is no need to go that high on a stock 12A, as the best output power is in the 6500rpm power band. Anything past that power was less. So unless major mods have been done to the engine there is no need to go past 6500rpm....

With my old -SE, I'd spin up to 8k all the time. Haven't taken the new -SE up past 7K yet, but it's still a work in progress.

Incidentally the SE is suposed to make 135hp.
