rotapower

Interesting, more efficient in both producing power and lower emissions. Time to get a 2 liter application and swap out my mazda wankel :P |
Interesting. I too have found a couple of places that have designed their own rotary engine, tailored for specific tasks.

I used to want a rotapower engine, for its ability to have up to like 5 or 6 rotors per engine; well, it's a possibility to have that many at atleast. Anyway, for a two rotor engine for a car, I'm starting to look more at the Renesis now. Side exhaust ports allow lower emissions than with peripheral ports. But then again, a 530 Twin would still be really cool, regardless of ports.
Incidentally, on a local TV show last night, there was a piece on the Yellowstone wintertime snowmobile action and the resultant blue smoke causing pollution. My first thought was about a single rotor Rotapower engine as an excellent replacement for those clunkly old two strokers. It would keep the environment cleaner, and could run on propane or hydrogen easily. |
