Ok guys and girls, let me know what you think.

Here's what i know about them. Heavy dudty Stainless Steel construction. Models with bolts showing are repackable (meant for race cars, street cars won't really need repacking - but if you think you will, it won't hurt to order a repackable unit.

Price for the muffler is believed to be in the $300 range and $750 range for SS mandrel bent cat backs - we will also be albe to work on custom configurations for bolt on systems for cars like 13BT FB's...

anywas, i'll let the pics speak for themselves.

We may also have a "name this muffler" contest where the winner will win a day as supreme emperor of the world!

my favorite names for these two muffler styles right now are the "Jump-Jet" for the down turn muffler and the "Assassin" for the one that looks like a gun silencer.

I wonder how much RB's PowerPulse muffler costs (I can't get to their site--seems down as of this momen)? But I think 300+ dollars for just a muffler that hasn't been tried and true on a rotary is a bit expensive... But having a cat-back system for 13BT FB's is an awesome idea, but doesn't 750 sound a bit expensive? I mean, I got my RB street port system for around 600...

well, notice the badge tacked onto the side of the muffler? these mufflers were designed just for the rotary, much like RB's mufflers

750 is a bit on the high side but these are just ball-park figures. we won't announce anything firm until we know their quility first hand and have firm prices to offer. don't get carried away on price right now, i just want to know where the interest is.

Well, if they are specifically designed for a rotary, then this could be interesting stuff worth buying :)

I'd imagine the first thing people would look for in this muffler is the HP gain (I know I would)!

what is the muffler packed with? stainless steel wool? high temp fiberglass packing?

what is the pipe diameter?

what is the diameter of the muffler can itself?

length of can?

overall length including any inlet flange?

more than one size available?

$300 USD is too much for a muffler in my opinion. For $300 it better get me donuts and coffee in the morning. :) :) :)

For my REPU I just got a Magnaflow 2.5" pipe muffler, 6" round O.D. can, 27" long can, 33" with flanges for $95 USD shipped to my door. And I can personally say the magnaflows can take the rotary heat, even on the racetrack with my 12a streetport former motor.

keep the questions coming and be patient for the replies... remember, i haven't seen any in person yet, i will be sure to answer every posted question that i can. As for the prices, remember, because this is a repackable muffler, you can pack it with whatever you want! and that should help to increase the value of the unit considering all you have to buy from that point on is the packing.

do rotary engines req. special muffflers?? i have been using a stainless steel "race muffler for years....and have not had any problems...what is special about a rotary other than the heat?...which isnt that bad as far as i can tell from feeling my exaust when i had my muffler off.

Heat is bad :) When around peak HP, temperatures are almost 4 times a normal boinger engine (4 cyl.). Rotaries just need stainless steel components in the exhaust system...

next time you have a chance, pick up a stock RX muffler compared to a similarly sized muffler from just about any other car... you will then know the difference. stock RX mufflers are noticably more dense than the others.

You sure they'll be that much? I think they're only about $300AUD over here.

All we know so far is that 3 Magnaflows are less expensive than of 1 Rotaflo. I doubt someone in the business would quote way out of whack unless they are really greedy and think the RX-7 community is really stupid so I wil ltake the $300 figure as accurate to within 10% (270-330)

Maybe more tech info and some hp gains claim would be nice.

But since I am not hooked on this designer label I guess I'll pass.

Someone above said they think that $300 is AUD... If that's the case, that's under $200 US. If the muffler sounds good, is good quality, and holds up, I would consider paying $200 for one, as opposed to $100 for a Magnaflow.

You said these were just ballpark figures, and that's fine, but are they ballparks in USD or AUD? That's a pretty big difference in price, especially when you're talking about a $750 catback (vs a $770 RB full streetport exhaust ).

In addition, they're repackable mufflers, are they fiberglass or are they steel? There are a few mufflers out there that use a steel pack, and they're a bit louder, but should withstand the heat longer.

i usually try to quote ballpark figures on the high side so i don't get slammed by the exchange rate and importing duties. i got bit once already and am still trying to recover from a massive currency fluctuation. please, like i said before, don't get hung up on the prices guys, these are no where NEAR final estimates. i'm going on what i was told by my potential supplier. i was quoted roughly 1100 AUD retail on the systems, i'm still not sure if they are cat-back or turbo-back. i will find it all out this week when i land in australia.

as for the packing, you should be able to use whatever packing you wish, i would prefer steel because of its durability.

prices may actually be closer to the $225 range for the muffler and the 550-600 range for cat-backs and the 7-800 range for complete turbo back.

we are also working on getting a complete turbo back system for an FB with a ser4-5 turbo swap.

What about a full exhaust for those of us who go with a ported NA engine, as opposed to a turbo-back?

300 aus is more like 150 us add shipping +some addional mark up for the importing pain in the butt should put them between 180-250 for the muffler does that sound close? I think the price should be competive with the other rebuildable mufflers that are curently here, if so and if they sound better there should be intrest. alot of people buy mufflers for looks also. in that department they look to need work. the bolts on the rear cap are too long in all your pics. and if they are made for are cars I would think the hangers would allready be on them or at least come with them as bolt on.
