One thing about doing a cage in an FB is head room for the driver. Sit in your car without a cage and see how little room there is between your head and the area above the door window. Then subtract the dia of the cage tubing, 1 1/2" or 1 3/4", and then another 1 1/2" for the thickness of your helmet then another inch for the padding you will need. Your head will probably be touching the bar. Ask the person you find what they do to help this. I usually slice the metal(inside) front to back above the door and hammer it back to the roof skin, this will give you about an extra 1 1/2" of space. You may need to install your seat a little tilted to the inside. |

As long as you don't have a front end accident. I also reccomend padding the roll bar everywhere you or a passenger might come in contact with it, in case of an accident. The local speed shop here sells 3' lengths of it for 2.89 a stick. It even comes in fluorescent colors.

Personally if you are driving the vehicle...which I hope you are I would get a shop to custom fab a bar that spans between your cage. This would require a little adjustment with the belt mounting locations but if it saves you bodies organs it is well worth the time and money IMO! |
Nope,no mods to the already broken bin lids.That one was just on upside down because my painter didnt know it fit the right way.I didnt realize it when I snapped the pic.
Its a tight fit,but the bin lids will snap down cleanly with my bar.Im not sure what model it is,I got it years ago.I do know its the most common Autopower bar,lots of people have it. The shoulder belt bar is part of it.I only clip the shoulder harness to the mounts when Im gonna use them.Otherwise they rattle and drive me nuts.On the street,I clip them to the headrest uprights to keep 'em quiet. |
