Rims?

Where can i Get rims that look decent that have a 110mm bolt patterns. would like BBS.

elvisjer 01-29-04 10:16 PM

*sniff sniff* I smell a noob that hasnt found the search button.... (welcome to the forum BTW) Panasport makes some good rims that are light as well. Hmmm.... BBS doesnt make any that Im aware of. Theres some company that makes one called a "sniper" thats pretty B BBS esque.

Pele 01-29-04 10:19 PM

I thought the 83 Limited Edition wheels were BBS... They're 14 inch to boot...

Aside from that, theres not much for the 110mm x 4 bolt pattern.

1stgen4life 01-29-04 10:20 PM

I think that most people will agree with me that Panasports are excellent wheels for an FB.

85rotarypower 01-29-04 10:25 PM

I think old skool enkie's look awsome. I love the basket weave style. Goes with the car nicely. Actually, the car on the back of my Haynes has them.

BTW, you could check out www.diamoneracingwheels.com . They have the same style rims that Mariah sells with their Mode one widebody kit.

85RX-Seven 01-29-04 10:36 PM

I found some that are 4x114, do you think that i might be able to successfully mount those on my car. i looked at the measurements, and there is hardly a noticable diff.

85rotarypower 01-29-04 10:41 PM

They WILL NOT mount on the non-SE suspension safely. The non-SE cars have a 4x110 pattern. I would not recomend trying to make them fit.

BIG J MIXALOT 01-29-04 11:16 PM

110mm x 4 is that the size it is 4x114.3 would not work beacause? on wheelmax.com they have real cheap wheels

Gregs 01-29-04 11:24 PM

no, no and no!

Ludicrous 01-30-04 12:03 AM

Tirerack.com only has 2 rims with our bolt pattern. Not too badly priced, but still not much for selection.

Do the SE swap, it'll expand the choices for you. Or buy the converter kit.

BIG J MIXALOT 01-30-04 12:57 AM

those K1 rims are nice for how much they are

oni-dori 01-30-04 12:55 PM

how hard is the se swap? is it just replacing the hubs or the entire suspension assembly?

Ludicrous 01-30-04 12:57 PM

Entire suspension assembly. Sammy's done it. There was a complete SE at PnP last time we were there. :D

oni-dori 01-30-04 01:34 PM

hmm... that's gonna be a little more tricky than i thought. guess its gonna have to wait a little bit longer.

Tanjo 01-30-04 01:40 PM

How do I find my bolt pattern? (85 GSL)

yayarx7 01-30-04 01:42 PM

all non se = 4x110mm
SE= 4x 114.3

IIRC

Lee Lyons 01-30-04 02:01 PM

Okay same topic I have a 83 parts car gls se so what your saying is I could switch the suspension onto my 81 and that would fix my bolt problem.

oni-dori 01-30-04 02:01 PM

just in case the previous owner did a swap, measure the center of one lug to the center of the lug across it.

Lee Lyons 01-30-04 02:02 PM

Or is it 85 either way as long as its an se it should have a different bolt pattern than 4*110

Ludicrous 01-30-04 02:36 PM

They made an -SE in 83?? I thought there were only the S, GS, GSL and LE in 83.

If it's an '83 then it's not a GSL-SE, it's probably just a GSL.

1984special 01-30-04 03:06 PM

SE was 84-85 only.
4X114.3mm is also same as 4X4.5"
-SEs have way more wheel options. Panasports fit both and look great, but are pricey.
Good luck with your search!

KehoeAutomotive 01-30-04 03:15 PM

I do like the look of the K1's.

Ben has a set of panasports and he needs money for college. You might want to email him. His online name is TheRX7TwinTurbo.

Have a good one!

85RX-Seven 01-31-04 02:16 AM

Do i need to just pull the suspension campletly off and SE or is there a place where i can get the conversion kit from?

Cody 01-31-04 01:58 PM

I'm in the same boat, wanting some nice wheels, although I already have 2 decent sets of 4 x 110s (:Þ)

You have to swap the entire rear end, and the front struts and whatnot with the rotors up front.

I was lucky enough to find a kid 2 towns over with a white 85 GSL-SE that is only FLOODING.....but he's no rotorhead, and he offered to sell me his car for $50.

The wheel adapter deal everyone hates on this forum. From what I have read, they are very unreliable to drive on, and are only supposed to be used on trailered show cars....something about very minimal amounts of metal...wheels breaking off, etc.
