RHB5 VJ11 Turbo too small?

My friend gave me a IHI RHB5 VJ11 turbo for free with two different exhuast housings the other night. The turbo is in great condition. From what I'm reading these came off of the Turbo Probes.

I'm wondering if this would be to small for just a low boost (5lb boost) application for my 12a street port?

I'm working on finding the maps so that some simple calculations can be made...

What are your goals for the motor? I can tell you right off the bat I doubt it will do much over 200 HP. Pulled one last week for a 1.5L honda "junkyard turbo" set-up I am helping a friend with. They are VERY tiny...

The exhuast housing is probably a wee bit on the small side.

I have had NO luck finding compressor maps for these things, or much info at all.

Try joining www.probetalk.com and searching through their archives. It's a slowass site, and I don't have the patience to sign up my email for it and sift through all the junk there...but if there's an answer to your question, that's probably a good place to start searching for it!

Sorry I couldn't really help much. On the bright side, you should be able to sell the turbo on ebay for a nice little profit if it is in decent condition. :D Find an old Honda HF or STD manifold, a junkyard intercooler, and sell it as a 500 dollar turbo kit to an unsuspecting ricer!

of course...not that I would EVER do or condone anything like that....

do you have the turbo? if you do , bring it by the shop so i can look at it , and ill let you know how it will work!

Yeah I sure do have the turbo... If I get the time I'll head down to the valley.

Where about is the shop?

I couldn't find much info on the turbo it's self other than the fact that it came off of the turbo probes

It does seem kinda small, but I'm not looking for I big boost.. just something give give me the extra little kick. But I don't want the motor to out flow the turbo.

Get this I got it off a ricer guy who turbo'd his `88 hatch... and blew the motor 3 times... hehe not the turbo I got tho.. I think he was using a t56  now he is running a single cam vtec motor ughh
