Replacing water pump as we speak........
Hello everyone. Well like the subject says i am in the process of replacing the water pump on my 82' GS. But i seem to have run into a problem. All the belts are off and nessessary bolts except for one piece: The AC belt pully on the eccentric shaft. The haynes manual tells me to remove this pully so that the water pump can be removed. Well i removed the 4 bolts that are on the actual AC pulley itself but no go. It does not come off!!! Am i overlooking another bolt that i cannot see or do i need to bang the hell out of it so it can come loose?? Have you guys ran into this little problem. The damn manual doesn't even go into specifics......it just says....NOW REMOVE THE AC PULLEY FROM THE ECCENTRIC SHAFT.....
Anyone have an idea? |
19mm nut I think, yo

NO NO, do not remove or even loosen the e-shaft bolt. You will have major problems if you do that. There are 4 bolts that hold the pulleys on the hub, that's all. The pulleys are probably rusted on, so spray them down with penetrant and tap on them. The lip of the hub that protrudes through the pulley may have a rust ridge that needs to be filled or sanded.
