Replacement U joints???
 

Are the U joints on the 83 GSL replaceable? I know for a fact mine are slowly going... so I just wanted to know if I can replace them. If not, how much does the whole drive shaft cost?

BTW... those driveshafts are F*CKING light/well built!!!!

I'm not sure about the '83, but take it from me, both the '84 and '85 driveshafts are NOT repairable...I tried twice with two different driveshafts and two different machince shops....Results were that both shafts have vibrations in them...:(

Get either a quality used one, or contact Mazdatrix for a new one. BTW, Dealer here in Central Ohio wants $400 for one!

'83 was the first year with non-replaceable U-joints. I've never done this myself, but appently some people have had thier U-joints replaced successfully.
