Replacement Parts
I'm looking to replace the shocks and struts on my '80. It seems like the only shocks are KYB GR-2s and Monroe OESpectrum and just KYB for struts. Which brand do you think would be better for shocks if there is any difference? Also rebuilding the brake master cylinder. Any tips on that/kit to use?

I use KYB's but I've heard bad stuff about them... I haven't had any problems.
Why not just buy a new master? |

Cheaper to just rebuild it
Those prices are from Rock Auto. |

Its $21 for the rebuild kit and $38 for the master cylinder. I guess its cheaper, but the master cylinder is professionally assembled and no chance of gouges that cannot be honed out. Not to mention the new master comes with a new sensor and reservoir (which are both bound to be dry rot after 30+ years).
EDIT: opps read your first post again. I heard there is some kind of shortage on SA suspension components with the KYB stuff????? |
