Removing the rear triangle windows on a 79
 

Getting ready to prep for painting. How do the rear quarter windows come out? I see a bolt at the front, (interior panels removed), but how do I get the other end off?

rest is glued on - take it to a glass shop, they have the skill and tools to zip them right off, should be cheap to do-

Note the little plastic triangles at the rear tip are clipped on, but damn near impossible to remove w/o breaking the clips. You may want to pull those first yourself, glue them back on after paint ($$ for new ones)

Is there a need to remove the black plastic triangles? or are they just clipped to the glass? If they are just clipped to the glass for cosmetics, can I just leave them on there intact, then when paint is finished, just put the whole Glass Triangle back on? If I do need to take them off, any idea what the fastening mechanism looks like? any tips for removing it?

The plastic triangle trim at the rear covers a bolt which must be removed to get the glass out.

If you carefully pry them straight up, front and rear, you can sometimes get them off whole, but more likely the pins will break off.

They can be glued back on with silicone when your work is all done, though. You just don't want to lose them, as they are very hard to find in good shape.
