removing front fender
 

i've never removed any body parts before and i was thinking of replacing my front fender on my 79 gs.
what do i need as far as tools go and is there anything i should look out for?

On the top there are 5 screws, 1 is hidden under the headlight. Open your door and you'll find another one. On the underside (between wheel and door) there are 2. Difficult one is the one in the wheelarche on the doorside, you'll need some extension tools to get to it between the fender and the inner plastic one.

You need to remove youre front bumper and you'll find another 4 screws. Took me about half an hour to remove it. Refitting will take longer to get it right. All are the same size screw, size 10 but that's the european size, probably will be the same in the usa:)

You can do this easy with a basic ratchet set.

as you might see by the pic, all the mold the car has been sitting for about 5 yrs now.
i think i need to go front to back and get her back in the mix.

Dont forget to cut the seam sealer or the fender wont go anywhere.
