remove airpump/keep thermal reactor??
I tried doing a search but could'nt get a def. answer.
I'm going to remove the airpump this weekend so I have more room to change the OMP. Now can I just leave the airpump off since the thermal reactor is not a catalytic converter? I don't see the need for it with a thermal reactor. I'm not worried about emissions, and I have a electric fan, so I'm not worried about the belt problem for the waterpump. Any feedback?? Thanks |
You gotta keep the airpump if you're leaving the thermal reactor on. The AP provides cooling for the thermal reactor, not having it would cause some pretty intense heat. I think there's the possibility of the internal walls collapsing, which would be worse than any clogged cat. Time to get some headers, then dump the AP.
