Rebuild question regarding original seal order.

Is it really important to identify which rotor and what side that each corner, side, and oil seal were originally removed from?

I'm picking up on a rebuild where all the seals were already removed to clean the rotors but... where they originally came from wasnt recorded.

Thanks in advance.

Some people will say yes and some no.
Corner seals shouldn't make a difference.
Your side seals will all have to be measured for clearence and you might need a new one or two.
It is important to make sure the oil control ring springs go in the right location, new ones are painted different colours.
Oil seals shouldn't matter.

the main part that matters is the oil ring springs the side seals wont matter what location the seals came from..

What will matter on the used side seals is to make sire you have them in right side up as I have some engines come in with low compression and the used side seals were installed upside down.. same goes for the corner seals so when you install them make sure you are looking at the shiney side and not the dirty brown\black side of the seals...
