Rearend found!!
Hey guys, i have an 82 gs and found an 83 rearend with disk brakes. Will it just bolt right in? Should i grab the e-brake cables too? What else woudl i need?
Also, I have taken the rats nest out and i have done nothing with the connectors...they are just sitting there. Can i trace them back and remove them? I have no azc also. Thanks |
the disc brake unit is a direct drop in. you will most definatly need the parking brake cables. you can de-pin the wiring from teh harness but leaving them causes no issues.

On my 1984 RX, I pulled all the wires back to a large flat connector that comes out of the firewall on the passenger side. The plug is white-ish in color about 3/4 inch X 3 inch.

well, i took the very old electrical tape where the connectors are....i also took some pics.
The connectors seem to run down towards the oil fill pipe and to the big connector in pic 2. Is this the connector that i can remove? The big connector in pic 2 is on the driver's side |
Dunno, what year is yours? When I stripped my car the big connector for all of the emissions crap was over on the passenger side.
I basically only have the wires that go to the ignition, alternator, water temp and oil pressure. |
grab the driveshaft too. 82 is a S2, 83 is S3.
