rear sway bar removal

It took me five minutes to get it off and I can't think of a better first modification for a 12A RX-7 as far as autocross goes. The car is now firmly planted on the ground in turns and quick, tight turns are much easier. I'm now getting 65 second laps where before I would be getting 70 second laps. If your car is stock and you race autocross, do it. Get your hands dirty for two minutes and do it.

how does it affect daily driving?

Taking off the rear bar does allow alot more compliance in the rear end, but it doesn't do much to rectify the underlying problem of binding in the rear suspension. For daily driving, it does make the car far more biased to understeer, which is typically safer for poor traction conditions.

As an autocrosser though, I find the trade off in increased body roll to be fairly steep. I'm going to give RX7Carl's suspension mods a try and see how I like it. For any interested, the tut is located at www.pbandjracing.com.
