$90 ! ? How can I make this???? The left side has enough room to install a residential shallow electrical junction box from the inside. Right side, I need to come up with something that installs from the outside. I was thinking molding fiber glass, or bondo. I can't visualize it. Oreily's has the thing that holds the 194 bulb. |
I bought a set of those.....
But I saved them and ended up using the factory ones.....they were in good condition....just the connectors inside broke.... I bought the sockets and adapted them to the base...... I changed all the bulbs....in and out....front to back to LEDs....... . https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...0435f6da10.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...819f766fd1.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...0be10483ac.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...261b0c68f1.jpg And I did also changed the license plate socket to use 194 bulbs.....those little factory bulbs are too expensive.... https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...e59f9afee7.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...cd03a7e5bc.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...49c0f14f2c.jpg |
pict #4 from the top.....did you fabricate that? Was it hard to bend?
I might chop up and drill an aluminum computer cover. I hate metal working because of multiple eye injuries when I worked in a ship yard. It is ridiculous the markup autoparts stores have on bulbs and sockets versus what you can buy over the internet in bulk. |

And I hear what you say about buying stuff in bulk.....you can get 20 pieces of 194 LEDs for $10.00....almost the same amount of the regular factory filament bulbs..... I paid $6.99 for like 6 or 8 bulb sockets.....and after they look awesome and super bright .... |
I like to top pic version and have seen it on eBay, but for $80 it's waaaay to expensive for my cheap ass. The front marker light housings on my 1979 literally crumbed in my hands when I took them off. I have a 1985 parts car and the rear marker light housing are the same as the front so used those. Would be neat to have some new 3d printed ones with the led sockets. I have a friend that just bought a new 3d printer, I might hit him up.

It was a piece of rectangular steel for blocking a computer chassis bay slot. I used Stanley Fat Max metal shears, and vice grips. No drilling with pesky little metal flakes to get into my eyes. 2 pig tails 194 socket = $9 Or I could have ordered this for $12 https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...b8816ab25c.jpg Yes, it is DOT approved ! |
That guy jacked his prices up from 40$ to 80$ , daylight robbery for what's effectively 10$ in parts
