not too long. it is drum or disc? i guess a lot would have to depend on current condidtion and how well it had been taken care of in the past. it might hold for a little while.

Hmm....the horsepower isn't the problem, buddy---the torque is. If you're launching at 3000rpm, you are RIGHT in the powerband for maximum torque----on a stock Rx-7 that's made to handle less than 1/4 the horsepower and disgustingly less torque.

I wouldn't worry about your rear end, God knows that won't hold up. I would worry about your driveshaft making your car a martyr machine. :)

It will last long enough to get you to the starting line, enjoy the tow home.

You said it best. Just ask directfreak. He was making about 330hp from his turbo rotarypowered GSL-SE and blew up the rear end on the first launch with drag radials. The stock rear end is weaker than a ford 7.5 and that rear end is critisized for being weak.

Just read your post again, I say you'll be lucky if you manage to even warm up the tires without blowing the rear end.

My stock SE rearend has held up very well, but I attribute that to a fair bit of lowend turbo lag.And I dont beat it......

The stock rearend is reasonably tough, but yea they arent made for crushing lowend torque launches.Start looking for a Ford 8.8" rearend.
