Rear disks in SA22c :(
Well today I finally decided to install the GSL rear disk cables and I now discovered they are about 6" too long with the caliper mounted forward on the axle and about 3" short if the caliper is mounted rearward. Now I understand the diameter of the ford 8.8 is bigger but not hat much bigger.
I'm wondering if anyone else ran into this issue? Is it hole placement in the frame? Or user error? Wtf? Also when trying to get the cables on anyway the driver side was a pita but possible versus the passenger side being impossible. I'm thinking the caliper might be stuck as well. If anyone wonders I am using T2 brakes like used in the respeed kit. This is really annoying since I was going to use the hand brake to drive it to the shop to install the hard lines I lack. In other news all I need is two hours for wiring dress up, brake hard lines and some kind of headers back exhaust system. |
Thru the frame, i just cant remember which side is shorter

Also, Ive converted multiple old school RX-2 and RX-3 to rear disc brakes using 81-85 gsl rotors and calipers. Others have mounyed the caliper facing rear but my installs were facing front, dictated by the e-brake cable holder.

I will try sit hung sides but even so it is still too long and rubs on the watts links
