real quick emergency question

Yeah I changed my fuel filter today after putting about 300 miles on it. It was very dirty, almost black. So, I decided to flush my tank and being the night owl that I am I started the project late. I leftthe tank on for simplicity purposes, drained gas and then flushed with water. Do I let the plug stay off overnight to dry out or do I put plug back in and fill with gas? Will it rust fast if it is let to dry?

help appreciated

Ian

If you think most of the water is out, I'd put a gallon of gas in it, shake it up real good, drain it, then go get a fill up and add a bottle of sta-bil or some other water remover. Should be okay.

sweet, thanks. I was thinking that but wasnt sure.

Just make sure that you don't skip the "add a gallon, shake, drain" step.

Would jumping up and down work for the shake part? It is still attached

*Shrug* I'd think that swaying side to side would be best. But if you're not sure, put more gas in it before you drain it.
