Reïnforcement plate rear suspension chassis
The reïnforcement plates which are welded on the inner side of the wheel arch which reïnforce the rear suspension bars at both sides of my RX-7 are end of life. Are they new for sale? I can't find it in the parts manual. if not original Mazda: is there an adress where they are repro made? In the reïnforcement plate is a rubber; it looks like a bolt. What's it for?

This part is not available new. In the past I have drilled spot welds out of plate and removed it and welded in another rust free part from a salvage yard donor car. All 1st gems use same plate.
I would remove storage bins from inside of car and inspect inner wheelhouse for rustthru. The damage you see on reinforcement plates comes from water making its way between the spot welded panels and rusting,a common problem on1st gens, more so northern east coast cars.
There is a thread or two on here where owners documented repair process on their cars.
The threaded collar you see in end of plate both sides with the rubber plug in it is meant for anchoring point for rear seat in JDM cars.
