Here ya go.

With the pulley on the motor and looking from the front of the car the first mark is 10* ATDC,the second mark is 0*,the third mark 10* BTC,and the fourth mark is 20* BTC.These are all left to right.

The instructions read

Step 1
After you remove the bolt retaining the main pulley, use a scribe or a small screwdriver to maintain the position of the pulley key in the keyway while you slowly slide this pulley off the eccentric shaft, keeping the scribe or screwdriver in place throughout this step.BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY REMOVE THE STOCK PULLEY,perform step or b listed below,as required.

A) MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Have an assistant press the clutch pedal to the floor, keeping it depressed fully while you perform the following installation steps. The goal is to keep the eccentric shaft from shifting back toward the rear of the engine and causing the thrust washers/bearings to slip away from their correct positions.

B) AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
If your engine has an automatic transmission, have an assistant press hard against the flex plate, pushing it toward the front of the engine, either remove the starter or the inspection plate/plug to facilitate access to the flex plate. The assistant must maintain constant pressure to the flex plate, using a large screwdriver or similar tool to provide sufficient force until the new oulley is slipped into place. The goal is to keep the eccentric shaft from shifting back towards the rear of the engine and causing the thrust washers/bearings to slip away from their correct positions.

Step 2
Now,slide the pulley off passing it over the scribe or screwdriver, that is holding the key securley in the eccentic shaft keyway.

Optional step-If you are installing the air conditioning/power steering pulley, follow the steps below.

The pulley has eight(8) threaded holes. The 1974-85 RX-7(I didn't know there was a 74-78 RX-7) uses only four(4) of these holes. The 86-92 RX-7 also uses only four(4) of these holes.Simply place the air conditioning/power steering pulley on the top of the main drive pulley and rotate it until all four holes line up.All four(4) retaining bolts MUST be used.

To the left of this step there is a diagram showing the pulley wit the eight holes There is an arrow with the text 1986-92 pointing to the hole at 12 o'clock, and an arrow with the text 1974-85 pointing to the hole at say 11 o'clock. The holes at 1 o'clock,4o'clock,7 o'clock, and the one at 11 o'clock are shaded the same and are marked 74-85.

Step 3
Slide the new pulley onto the eccentric shaft, matching the keyway in the pulley with the key in the eccentric shaft keyway.

Step 4
Torque the front main pulley bolt to atleast 80 foot-pounds,bearing in mind that you must maintain .0015-inch endplay in the eccentric shaft.

That is the instructions I got with my Racing Beat pulley set,and I must say they are not real descriptive in my opinion, but that is what they send to you.Good luck.I plan on putting mine on soon, and these instructions don't leave me with that warm fuzzy feeling.

Agreed, nice job.:) I had to call racing beat because I didn't know either. I need one more mark as I set my leading to approx 26btc.

No problem guys.I just typed up the exact install instructions from Racing beat,as I have had a set of these pulleys for years, and only recently thought of installing them on my new 79.I don't feel the instructions are that great though. What I don't understand is the torque setting while maintaining the .0015 end play.It doesn't tell you how to do that.I guess you need a friend to sit in the car with the clutch depressed for a little while.Good luck.

Chris
