rats nest and emissions removal

I've just read RX Carls tutorial on removing the rats nest and was wonderring if anyone else has done it, it seeems quite straightforward and i've sourced all the parts needed, if anyone has done it could you advise me of any problems i may encounter.
Plus are there any other emission bits i can bin?

It is really easy to do. an extension really helps with removing the main part of the rats nest.

Loose the rats nest, cats, air pump, Air Control Valve, etc.

I'm going to tackle it as soon as the parts arrive, the other thing i want to do is strip the unnecessary bits off the carb, any ideas what can be binned?

RX-7 Chris 01-14-09 09:55 AM

I think it is all in the tutorial.

Thanks Chris i've just found the links, for some reason i couldn't find them before.
Looks like i'm going to be busy.

it really is not that bad, I did it in an afternoon. Although my motor died shortly after that and now I have a completely diferent setup.

I have a question . . i recently took off my Niki so i could rebuild it, my question is can i eliminate the spacer between the carb and the intake manifold? I have the emissions completly removed and working fine. I thought maybe this could be possible? It would make things alot more clean looking . . Sorry for the noobish question lol

I would leave the spacer because it is a heat barier.
