Radio Problems
 

A while back, my bud was jumping the GSL-SE because I had replaced the alternator. He crossed the connections and told me to start her. No start, and a bit of smoke from under the hood (really, not much, just burned a sheath). We do it properly next time with me checking, checking again, okay, good to go. I pull out of the driveway and turn on the radio. Well, I attempt to turn on the radio. Nothing. Okay, unit's dead from it. Replace with another stock clarion unit. Still, nothing. Silence. I replaced the amplifiers a few minutes ago and STILL nothing!!! What is going on?! Is there a fuse somewhere besides the fuse block in the cabin I don't know about?

There is a removable glass fuse inside the radio.

Anyone else know of any other fuses?

Check all of the fuses and fusible links, and also the fuse mentioned above. Can't think of anything else, unless you actually burned through a wire somewhere. Maybe you can get away with just running a new power wire to the head unit?

Thats strange. I just put an aftermarket cd player in my car. If you want my old clarion radio because i know it works just pm me.

I've replaced the radio unit (eq reciever and all) already.

Check with a WalMart $10 multimeter if you have your constant 12V and keyed ignition 12V. While your at it, check your ground too. If your radio dosn't come on, the remote turn on from the radio will not turn on your amplifiers either. If you find that both your 12V leads and ground are good, you may have a toasted radio.
