Radio Antenna
 

I picked up a early 90’s Alpine radio to kinda try to keep it around the same era as the car (or at least when I was in high school w a RX7) and I need to get some sort of antenna installed…. The problem I have is I welded, bondo’ed and painted the original hole shut eeeek.

So my question is anyone try anything besides the normal power antennas w success….?

JDM 1st gens did not have antennas either. They used a wire antenna which was molded inside the windshield. I've never heard of anyone trying, but they do make concealed antenna's. Basically a wire you would stretch out and attach under the dash or headliner or somewhere. I have one on my Harley, inside the front faring. Totally hidden / concealed and no aerial antenna.

i bought one of those concealed ones for my miata. i bought something from Amazon for $27, so price is good (there are tons of choices). it wraps around the trunk, so you can't see it which is good.
on an miata there isn't any roof to go up in, so reception is not as good, although its ok.

on an FB you could go up the b pillar and over or something and it would work fine
