Racing Wheels on Street

Ello all. Im looking for some new wheels for my 84 GSL-SE it, of course, has the 4x114.5(4.5) bolt pattern. I have been looking at the Diamon Racing 15x7 SCL wheels. this is the dimensions im thinking:

15 in Diameter
7 inch wide
?? Offset
?? Backspacing

I know i will need to buy some 45 degree taper lugs also, so does anyknow know wich ones i will need? Theres about a billion different thread styles.

Now my more serious question. How well will these work for a street driven car. I plan on autocrossing as much as i can get off work, but i am still going to drive my car daily so i want to make sure itl ride ok and rubber wont be killer expensive

The Diamonds actually stand up to street driving very well... But uh... That's because they're STEEL....

steel=heavy
aluminum=light, but isnt gonna stand up to street use very well.

hehe Magnisum is a billion times lighter and will stand up to anything but almost none of the manufactures with DOT them for streat use so if you want to walk the wild side there the best but

Best = most expensive

It doesn't help that Magnesium is flammable....

We use diamonds as ont he street no worries.

You can actually use 13x7 Diamonds on your -Se if you wanted...

back-spacing is the same as on the non-SE cars

for backspacing

with the 13x7's what size tire would be best for the street

this is what im thinking of getting btw. i want the lowest profile, and widest tires possible

any suggestions?

i was looking for something like 225/45-13, but couldn't find anything.

I use a 205/60R-13 take-off rear Spec racer ford tire.

Yep, and its a riot when they go up too. All the firemen can do is make sure the fire doesn't spread. You will never see an attempt to douse an old beetle.
