race pressure plate
 

I am planning on adding a 50 shot of nitrous to my camden in the spring.

I currently put down 227 rwhp and 180 ft lbs of torque.

The car has the rb street strip clutch and pressure plate. Racingbeat suggests the pressure plate won't hold and recommends the race pressure plate and stay with my current clutch disc.

Anyone have experience with this pressure plate??

Anyone put down 300 rwhp (obviously with a turbo II conversion) with the street strip clutch and n/a tranny without slip??

Any opinions??

i was using the RB race PP but is to agressive for street so i went with those ACT street PP and clutch so far so good

the only issue with pressure plates that are 3,000lbs or higher, your clutch hydraulic wont be able to handle it without extending the clutch pedal push-rod or the clutch slave push-rod. I know coz Im using 4puck and 3,000 lbs pressure plate. heavy pedal but no slipping and good grip even with a dozen run at the track.

Since our track has closed down I only plan on spraying occasionally.

Since I have never "felt" my street strip clutch slip I may roll the dice and see how she holds.

i had to replace the clutch master & slave cylinder b/c of the issues that Wacky spoke of
ended up using oem due to the fact that the aftermarket replacement could not withstand the pressure

I think I'll go with street strip in the 81 so I can keep using the hydraulics. I recently had to swap in another master rebuild kit when the old plastic one locked up inside the bore. The new one was also plastic! Junk. Probably won't last very long. But I did find an aluminum one. :)
