Quick headlight bezel question

So I hit a deer with my 83, busted the LH headlight bezel and did some minor body damage. I was looking in the latest Black Dragon Auto catalog and see they offer the RH headlight bezel, but they don't list the LH. Are the headlight bezels interchangeable or do I have to get one for the LH side?

I don't think they interchange. Sometimes BDA is just that way, only sells one side or only a certain year. Etc,

Not interchangeable. Also a new part will be much more expensive than you can find used, you should check you local auto salvage or better find some club members in the area who may be able to help out. If all else fails send me a pm, I might have a spare left hand bezel in the parts shed.

Good luck, my friend Dean just had a similar deer event a few weeks ago, hood, midpiece, right fender and headlight damage. Here's his patched up 83 GSL:

Thanks for the quick replies. I was able to find a used one for under $20, so problem solved as long as I receive it in good shape.

Gives new meaning to "deer in the headlights."

Several 1st-gen parts have high cost differentials between left and right versions of the same part.

SA E-brake cables are a notable example; because the failure rate is higher for the RH cable (it gets cooked by the muffler over time, gets brittle, and the casing cracks) there aren't as many left available at this point, and there's about a 5x difference in cost for new parts.

^^agreed. list price for an 85 GS RH brake cable is over $100.. i know because i had to replace one a couple years back..
