Questions for widebody owners

I have one of the early Pacifica kits, which just has an opening for fuel door access leaving it in the stock location. I know Mariah uses some sort of captive nuts on their rear fender to allow the fuel door to be relocated. I'm looking for a picture of how theirs is made so I can modify mine.

I'm also looking for wheel sizes for the same kit. I'm planning on going with 15" but need some idea of the widths/offsets I'm looking for. Haven't found a definitive answer written down to this anywhere. I really liked the looks of the car Billy Waits used to have, so that's the direction I want to go in.

Thanks.

Billy's car was running 15x8 wheels with a zero offset. I don't believe it had any spacers. Not 100% sure on tire size, but I may have the info somewhere.

My Pacific kit has the gas door relocated. Not 100% sure what nuts it uses, but I think they're available at hardware stores. At least I hope so since I lost one inside the fender :/

the race cars back in the day were running 16x10 and 16x12 wheels, you'd have to measure, but 15x8 will fit under stock fenders, so with a widebody you should go bigger

Thanks for the info. If you can find the tire sizes I would appreciate it.

I am hoping someone with the Mariah kit pokes their head in so I can get them to post a picture of how theirs is. With yours, has anything been done to modify the latch on the gas door? I would imagine both the stopper and the latch would need to be extended.

My kit isn't the wiiiidddddeeeebody one like the old CP Racing one, I'm not sure 10-12"wheels would fit without looking funny (to me at least). I'm going to try and stay away from anything bigger than 15" as I like a little sidewall on my tire.

I have the Mariah kit and we could not find a secure way of moving the door so it is in the stock location.

Also, while you can get wheels in any width, tires are another story. I ended up going with 16" as there were many more tire sizes available.

Hadn't gotten so far as to consider tire choices yet. Good point.

I have a couple of ideas that might let me put some sort of captive nuts on the fender, I have to wait until I get home next month to see if any of them will work.
