Question for ANYONE with a front mount oil cooler!

Hey guys,

I'm in a mad rush to get the car back together. :D It should be ready to fire up tomorrow sometime. I can't wait. First time in about 9 or 10 months. A really stupid and simple question that I can't seem to find in a search.....

I did the beehive to FMOC conversion on my car, and I'm ready to hook up the lines. Which line goes where? Does the line from the front cover go into the top or bottom fitting on the oil cooler? Does the rear oil cooler line go into the top or bottom. Either way I need to know ASAP so I can keep wrenching here. PLEASE HELP IF YOU KNOW! Thanks!

Jamie

Hmmmmmmmmmm. First did you get the radiator ok? Not sure on the lines (SA, FC, SE cooler?). But the oulet from the front cover should go to where the T stat is so it can function to bypass oil till its warmed up.

Hey carl!

The rad is about to be dropped into the car, as soon as I can get my oil cooler lines hooked up... If I take a pic really quick can you tell me how the lines go? It is VERY close to being done. The rad is in great shape, once I confirm that it doesn't leak I'll send you some $$ for it.....

According to my 2 FSMs,for either the 1st or 2nd gen oil cooler, the top line goes to the front cover and the bottom line goes to the back of the motor.

If this is an SE cooler, you need to have the upper line go to the front cover. The lower line goes to the rear endplate.

I just went out in the garage and looked at my SE. HTH,

Here are some pics of the cooler guys. I'm not sure what it is off of, but there is a large bolt (thermostat?) directly under the bottom fitting. I'm gonna go hook it up as recommended. If for some strange reason that isn't right please post here and I'll switch 'em around. Thanks for the speedy answers fellas!

You have it installed correctly. Short hose goes to upper(front) connection, long hose to lower(rear) connection.

Looks good.;)
