Question for all you side draft and dellorto guys
 

Just came into a dellorto on a gslse engine in a rusted chassis. Picked it up cause my 12a wont make compression after rebuild, pretty sure i cut the side seals way too short. Anyway I've got everything swapped over and I'm trying to plum the carb properly, but I've run into this bung that I have no idea what it does or what its supposed to go to. I've spent the past 2 days coming forums, exploded diagrams, and installation guides looking for a reference on what its for and I got nothing. Also not sure where the vac bung on the manifold should go.

Looks like it's just stuck on the air filter box, probably connected to the oil filler neck if the purge valve was removed.

Brake booster.

if ur referring to that brass fitting on the bottom side of the air cleaner, that would be open into the clean air side of the air cleaner. i would plumb that to one of the nipples on the oil filler neck. that's where mine goes as part of the crankcase ventilation.

OR....

u could just cap it off.

Thanks for all the help guys. Yes the brass fitting is what i was talking about and it does go straight to the air cleaner. Feeling pretty stupid now that I didn't notice that on my own.

Yep on the original RB airbox for a Dell thats a breather bung for doing what you want with it. I have a PCV valve inline and it goes to the oil filler tube fitting to keep the lung mustard at bay. My fuel vent goes to the bung on the center iron next to it.

As previously stated, should be for crankcase ventilation. Best of luck with the new setup!

I thought it was for the brake booster, but I was looking in the wrong place.

Yeah at first I thought it was supposed to be a return line of some sort until I pushed air through the fuel inlet and felt nothing. Then this post happened. If you're curious, I blocked off the brake booster port since I'm running T3s brake booster delete bracket and really couldn't be happier with the braking feedback I get, if you look close enough you can see the bolt sticking just slightly out from the manifold. Anyways, should have her running tonight or tomorrow.

For those that are curious, she is running now. 5th and 6th ports are stuck unfortunately but I'll have that worked out in good time. Might not be stuck, might also just be that my patch job on the backpressure line from the exhaust didn't work and I'll need to redo it. Needs a tune overall... badly.

Ok update on the actuators. I don't think the actuators are stuck since i can push them it with a little force, not alot, just enough because the springs or whatever is inside is fighting back. Anyway I'm looking for clarification because it seems that there is so much info on the 2 different 6 port manifolds for s4 and s5 but not alot for s3. I keep reading exhaust actuated this and acv that etc but then I've seen this small line from the bottom of the manifold that seems to go into the actuators. I have the exhaust tube going to the large port on the side of the intake, is that actually part of the actuator system or just a basic EGR setup? That port on the bottom, is it for the actuators? Is that bottom line port supposed to have pressure and where is it supposed to be hooked up to?

If anyone can post pics of their setup on thus it would be much appreciated.
