question about windshields.

I have a 83 gsl , will that wind shield
fit in a 84 gsl-se. thanks Matt22

DCmina 07-24-02 01:31 AM

I can find that out for you tomorrow if no one knows.

Manntis 07-24-02 03:15 AM

should be identical. My '83 and my '85 GSL-SE match

damon 07-24-02 08:42 AM

I think the only swap that would be questionable would be from an SA to an FB, the curve doesnt look the same

Blitz0309 07-24-02 09:48 AM

Damon is right, the sa windshields won't work with a fb, other than that you should be good.

Some of the part numbers are different, but UIm betting it only relates to differences in the composition of the glass. All of them are the same size... :) And getting a windshield out without breaking it is a task! I had a new one put in mine for $127! Is it really worth it?

Piano wire to cut the silicone or whatever they used, and someone pushing from the inside lightly, while you accept the windsheild... no problem.

Just find or make a small hole in the silicone, and slide the wire through, then drag it along, and slice away...

They use urethane, greasy nasty black gorilla snot. That stuff is a bitch if it gets on you while its wet. It just smears and smears and sticks to your clothes and then gets on everything. But suppose to be some bad ass shit to use on windshields...

DCmina 07-24-02 11:25 PM

I checked and they have different part #, but I haven't checked if they are interchangable. O_o
