A question about storage bin lids and center console lid

First, the storage bin lids. The hinges are broken on mine, and I was wondering if anyone had a cheap and easy fix for them. I was thinking of a piano hinge, but I don't have the screws that it came with and I think they would go through the top of the lid.

Second, the console lid. Does anyone have the top of the lid in brown that they gould sell to me? (Free would also be nice) The rubber part came of off the black part.

Thanks,
Chris

A piano hinge should be fine. The plastic is actually quite thick - just eyeball it first and ensure you have the right length of screw shank - and predrill pilot holes!

Yeah. Ive seen people use piano hinges with short little screws. They work fine. FYI - I also am looking for the lid in brown with hinges un-broken for an 83. Theyre different from 84-85...I think. Everything else is :).

the only difference with 84-85 bins is they're lockable

Sorry, I meant the center console lid is different (I think). I never noticed the bins were different, thanks Manntis :). Not that it would matter, my key only works on the ignition, and barely on the doors. Not the hatch or the glove box. I think its the "vallet" key or some shit. Im gonna try and swap the lock set out of my 84 because I have all the keys and the locks from that car. Plus I never lock my glovebox either.

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it. I am going to buy a hinge tomorrow.

I have a wornout hinge, too. I was thinking of gluing some landscapers black mesh to the thing . After that fails I'll go for the piano hinge mounted with short sheetmetal screws, which have threads all the way up the shank.
