Question about port and sterling carb

So I picked up a 12a for 175. It has everything it needs to be dropped in, except the wiring to the dizzy. It had been sitting for a while with atf or mmo (can't remember which), so I desided to rebuild it. I have gotten it apart now and it looks to be if really good shape, no flaking no rust or corrosion buildup...

Anyway, I have desided to port it, but I am not sure if I want to go full bridge. Is it possible to give it a street port on the primaries, a bridge on the secondarys, a race and pollished exhaust, and still run a stock/sterling carb?

Were I to do this what other tips could you pass this way, such as, increasing the oil pressure reg, stationary gears, whatever...any info helps.

Thanks.

Yes, thats called a half bridge. Itll run on a stock carb or a Sterlingcarb but the stock carb will limit the power due to lack of airflow at hi RPM's.

On the other stuff I suggest you search. Theres lots of mods for extended Hi rpm operation. Theres also clearancing the rotors etc etc.

Yes, you can half bridge it and turn you stock apex seals, so the side peice is away from the bridge. I would use something bigger than a stock carb! Holley's get big enough, 600 DP should work nice!
