Q for all who use FC oil coolers
Q for all who use FC oil coolers
Hello again, everyone. I've got the archived thread bookmarked to use for ideas and suggestions (https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/cooling-oil-how-install-fc-oil-cooler-1st-gen-write-up-pics-478521/), but I seem to have ran into a snag. The mounts for the cooler seem to hit on either side of the crossmember. I cannot move it more toward the passenger side because it hits the radiator support (see image).
I purchased some angle iron (thought it was 2"), but each side of the angle is only 1". If I get the larger angle iron will this help my issue? Looking at the thread from the archives, it seems that way. Just wanted some insight. Also, ignore the stock fc rubber mounts (weren't used in the thread trochoid made), I was trying to figure out solutions.

Since I have PS, you can see why I mounted mine lower and forward. If you don't need the bracket, remove it and go with the wider angle. A big reason for mounting it lower was to increase air flow to the cooler, especially with the stock body,

Try this option, works well, get lots of fresh air and there is plenty of room.
