What color are you going with? BTW - those SE wheels are sweet looking.
Wish mine looked that good.

SE plans

I got a garage full of parts that include new rebuild motore, rad, rotoros, steel braided lines, etc...
I'm old school so for now i am going to stay with the dual 36 DCD webber setup. I also have a Holley set up to change from time to time. :p:

SE plans

I have a garage full of new parts from the ground up. I am going for the same color and Dual 36 webbers, (Rotary Engineering). I also have a Holley setup, to change up from time to time.
The wheels are staying with new Falkens Ziex.
I can not way to get it running. The project has taken me about six months, just gathering parts and taken the car apart, between jobs and raising teenagers.
I had to buy another 85 just to get that rotary feel. :rlaugh:

It's really nice to see someone doing a repaint the right way.

The only comment I have on your work, is check around the winshield carefully. They tend to rust there. I, personally, would remove it, but then I have a guy that comes to my house and installs them for 25 bucks. :bigthumb: On the down side of that, I broke the 1st 3 I tried to take out.

Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

windshield

I dropped the car off today and the owner of the shop use to own an 81 back in the day. He was just as static as I was about getting the car ready and painted. I will have him take a close look to see if there is a need to take the windshield off. I have looked at the car all over and I did not notice any anywere.
As far as the coment on the wheels; They are made of aluminum there was never any chrome lip. The y were just very shiny when new. I will take care of that once I get the car back.

rxseven07 04-12-05 09:41 PM

uhh i have the same wheels, and my lip is chrome...

web777 04-13-05 01:32 AM

Good job. Are you going to spray it the original color?? I would be nice to see Tender Blue all shiny and stuff. I used to have a Tender Blue SE but it got stolen :(.

BTW: SE wheels were never chrome from the factory. It came silver/aluminum with clear coat. That's not to say you can't polish them :D.

Have had the car in the garage for a couple of months and between traveling and other projects, this one has fallen behind a little. I got all the parts I was waiting for to get the rear end rebuild and went to work this weekend. Got the dify taken apart, cleaned and painted. Will replace the bearings in the upcoming week and should have everything, (rear end, springs, gas tank,...) back on it by next weekend. I will the takle the fron end next. Waiting on the front and rear sway bars to finish the suspension. Once I get done with the under carriage I will proceed to assemble the interior. Here are some pics...

Today I too the muffler down, ckeaned it up and paited it. Looks as good as new. (at least I think So) Not to bad for a muffler that came out of a burned car...

I got lucky with the paint color it matches the Tokiko paint almost perfectly. I will complete the front end tomorrow and push the car out of the garage this weekend to do the windows and start on the interior.
