Project car. Need info.
Ok so I finally gave in and bought a '81 GS. Now the 12A in the car is very healthy and pulls very strong. Mechanically the car is in terrific shape., Now I've already ordered Tokico HP struts and racingbeat springs (can't beat $300 for that setup) and the cosmetic stuff is being taken care of. Now I have a S4 6 port 13B on hand and I plan on street porting it and running a dual carb side draft setup. I also plan on replacing the rear axle with a GSL-SE rear end and getting SE brakes in the front also. So heres the questions. I'm shooting for 200-220hp (at the crank) on the motor so will the trans hold up or will be better to get the GSL-SE or even a FC trans? And seeing as how the motor will be carb'd and running premix, what will I have to do as far as the ignition goes? And how will I deal with the 5th and 6th port actuators?
