Pre-Pump fuel filter options?

So I'm looking to get some sort of fuel filter to put before my walbro pump.

I have an 84 se so anything would need to be at least 10mm ID inlet/outlet sizes.

I am however concerned whether or not this will affect pressure and flow as I know it is the low pressure side.

Maybe if there is any other solutions that would be wonderful as well. I'm just looking for something to protect my walbro from contaminants.

Thanks.

Here's a thread that got into a good discussion on fuel filters:

The stock setup had the filter before the pump, I run a filter before and after my no-name solenoid pump and it doesn't give me any trouble. I would think you would be fine as well. Most of the aftermarket pumps have way too much pressure anyway (you really need to run an FPR so the carb doesn't see too much pressure), the filter, if anything, would help keep the pressure down.

I have a 13b FI engine. No carb.

OOPS! Missed the whole SE thing. Well back to square one!

Im curious why you want to use the Walbro? Those are usually reserved for turbo fc motors. And speaking of FC's, unless there is a fuel filter hidden somewhere, their fuel filter is after the pump.

Once the lines build up pressure I don't think it takes much labor to maintain the fuel pressure.

on an SE there IS a pre pump filter, its in the tank! just replace with the new

Yeah I do have a brand new one, so I'm fine?

Reason I asked is because there's a little factory filter in the stock pump but I lost that lol.

And there a plenty of 13b 6 ports running walbros. No better than stock se I hear but a hell of a lot cheaper than a new oem pump.
