power window failure

SI have a 1984 GSL-SE that i just put up for sale again.

and today, the drivers window failed 1/4 of the way down.

Is there a way to crank it up again without disassembling the door and pulling the window motor?

here's hoping :D

Depends on whether or not you have a failure in the motor or the switch. Never had a motor fail but have had the switch fail. Keep depressing the switch up and down multiple times to see if it starts to move the window at all. If it does not then you can look at the FSM wiring to see what wires that go from the switch to the motor and apply proper power and ground bypassing the switch. If the motor goes right up or down then you have a bad switch.

Switched from power to Manuel windows and never turned back. Too many probs with the power stuff. Window comes off track, motor bogs down, switches crap out, hate it.

pull the switch and hot wire it up and down, then you know its the switch, btw my furnace just cost me $650 so I'm out Spence

i would pull the door panel and ensure the window is on track and ensure the track bolts are tight.

THanks for the suggestions all :)
I didnt have a multi meter so i was really looking for a way to get it closed so i could worry about it tomorrow.

BUt, no easy way to do that, so I borrowed one from a friend. My powers good, and my switches are in excellent shape, it turns out that some previous owner had cut one of the waires in the door itself and repaired it badly. I cleaned up the connection and taped it off and its all good now. better than before :)

and sorry to hear that you're not able to pick it up Gary. i'll post it on here in case theres anyone else that would like it.
