To port or not to port, That is the Question!!!!
In august I am going to have Pineapple Racing rebuild my motor.
My delima is wether to leave it stock port, or go large streetport. I am an avid auto-xer and run in CSP. So if I port the motor it will bump me into a mod calss (where I dont have a chance in hell of ever placing). I also do alot of track days and late night freeway runs. It sure would be nice to have that extra horsepower with the streetport. I will also be purchasing a Weber carb and a RB intake manifold. Any advice or ideas would be great thanks..... Also, is anyone going to be selling a Weber 48 DCOE in August????? Micah |
unless you are worried about being competative, definatly port it.. the extra power will be a lot of fun.

Wouldn't that intake combo bump you up, anyway? You must streetport, especially if it's a PR job....

No the intake setup is legal in CSP.
I am just afraid I am going to regret not porting it while its apart. But at the same time, I do plan on being very competive in CSP. I am around 2-3 secs behind the leaders on race tires. I will be investing in a set of those as well.... |
just go with the street-port

Well, any porting is illegal in CSP........ maybe you could try a different class. I dunno, I don't autocross, but I'm thinking about trying it . I'd be doing it more for the wheel time, not the competition. I'd love to track race, but there are no tracks around here for 300+ mi.

If I port I will get bumped up into a prepared (MOD) class.
By the way I should mention, that this car is a daily driver and curantly my only mode of transportation..... |
