Porsche speedster - am I nuts?
 

I saw a purty 1956 Porsche speedster at the store yesterday and it brought back pleasant memories of driving those things years ago. So I'm considering adding one to my stable of 4 FBs and a REPU. Originals cost 50-70k and replicas 10-20k. Probably a replica is ok for my needs (needs?). I can probably half-ass justify this as an investment. In fact, it may be a very good investment. And a pleasuure to drive to the store.

Decisions, decisions. It's a hard life.

well, a speedster sure is a nice piece of equipment. I you can afford it: you can never have enough cars :D
and if you're going for a replice, why not throwing a 13B in? ;) I wouldn't mind owning one myself, actually...

i kinda had the hankering to get a replica and put a 12a in it or something, methinks that would be fun!

Yeah, I like the idea of a 12A in a replica. Another good spot for a rotary would be a Lotus 7.

I'm what you all would consider an young guy. And even though I was never alive in that era I appreciate cars like this. If I had the money bliffle I would have one of those cars in my garage but as of right now it will only be a dream. My only fear is that when or if I could ever afford a car like that, these types of car will only be museum pieces.

I was looking at a 944 for a while, and my g/f didnt bother to mtell me the guy was offering to sell it, to her, for 50 until it was gone it was cherry, no Idea why he sold it for so cheap other than he liked her company (he was like 80 and she would help him out) i told her Id of given her at least 1000 for it ( all o my money) but she didnt know I liked em until he sold it to someone else for like 700 grrrrr
