pllot bearing every1 hates them

ok i hate pilot bearings what do you guys think are better?

pilot bearing or pilot bushing

bearing errr :Kill1:
PROS: they dont lose there shape do to wear, stronger, $7.20
CONS: pain in the ass to get out, they brake and drop needel bearings into your clutch, not self lubing, cant re-grease them, ez to damage

PROS: they are self lubing, dont have to worry about them coming apart, long lasting, ez to install, ez to get out
CONS: as they wear they lose there shape(clutch will wear out b4 the bushing does), cost more $8.10,

Pilot Berarings, but use a pilot bearing puller made for the rotary engines. We have them in stock and the bearing pops out in a matter of seconds...................... My 2 cents

Also, What many people forget to do is order the pilot bearing seal.

This will help keep the grease in, alot of people forget this part. It will help HUGE amounts. Its worth the extra couple of bucks.

rx7.com sells them and they ship hella fast. (sorry got to plug)

hehe..... Do what I do..... Order a lightweight flywheel at the same time, this way you don't have to bother with pulling the bearing out of the old one... LOL

MattG 04-17-06 04:43 PM

Yes that will work too!

Sorry, the pilot bearing resides in the end of the e-shaft. Changing flywheels won't do it.

^^^ i was going to say that you beat me to it

If you use the proper tool the pilot bearing is a breeze to remove.I have the Mazdatrix puller, and the job cannot be easier.I would suggest that if you plan on keeping a rotary in your garage, then you should invest in the proper tool.It will pay for itself in short order when you have moved onto another part of the repair of your car after using this tool.
