Please tell me how to remove the axels on a gsl se rear.
 
I am trying to take apart my gsl se rear to paint the axel and powder coat the dust shields can anyone tell me how to remove the axels I cant seem to figure it out :(. Thanks (I did search but didnt find anything)

I wouldn't bother taking the dust shields off to paint. You will need to get the bearings removed to remove the dust shields from the axle. Bearings are not cheap.

pull off the brakes and the 3 bolts that hold the cap on then you have to use an axle puller or beat it out from the back with a hammer and risk damaging the axles.

Thanks :) I thought so I just wanted to make sure before I broke something.

Once the axle bolts are removed and the brake calipers out of the way, you remount the lug bolts only partially threaded in. If you have a junk wheel, mount that and beat on it from the backside with a 2-4 lb hand sledge. If you have no junk wheels, mount a good one and jerk the f*** out of it to loosen the axle.

Go to auto zone and rent an axle puller. Its basically a 5 pound slide hammer with the correct end that mounts to the wheel hub. It will cost close to 100 bucks to rent it but you get it back when you take it back so it "doesnt cost anything".
