PLEASE Help- power loss+....

Ok heres the deal, was driving my girlfriend home from school, and i wasn't even speeding like usual, i was going about 60 at about 2.5k, and out of no where i stumbles a bit and i felt a little bit of a wierd jerk, not really noticable. but after that, i approached a stop light and there was no acceleration, or power, i would floor it and it would take me 15 seconds to get up to 60 km/h, also it idles at about 1.3k now from the usuall .8k when i stoped it and took a look, the exaust pipe move alot more than usual, and the engin shakes much more, whats going on, i clean the plugs, and checked all ignition stuff, i'm just preying that its not a blow seal, would atf treatment do anything, i've never done it, and how much should i put in, even just in neutral it has a hard time reving, its so slow. I'm upset, i had just got the car the way i wanted it. Anyone have any ideas or comments, i guess i'll go in for a compression test, and could it be a clogged cat.
thanks in advance guys

check the basics first, as they're the cheapest and easiest to eliminate:

fuel filter - could be clogged from rust, etc in tank (how low is your gas level?)

ignition - check spark on all plugs (just unscrew them from the block and lay them on some chassis metal with the wires hooked up to them and get an assistant to crank the car over for a second)

then try things that are moer complicated.... and PLEASE don't just dump ATF in the engine for no reason... we don't want anyone to get riled up again, now do we? (not to mention any names, right Sterling? :p: )

hope this helps!

I'm also sure someone else can offer some more advice.

Jeff
