Piping size?

How much is to big?? I got A racing beat streetable header a bonez race pipe and a borla xs muffler to put onto my car. I want to run bigger piping i was thinking somewhere around a 2" 2.25 b/c i wanted my car to still sound decent and shoot a lil flamage. But people are telling me that i should do 2.5" 3" and i think thats big.

What would make my car sound good.

P.S I got upgraded coils and 10mm plug wires too if that will make a difference.

For stock port and N/A 2" is probably your best choice. I wouldn't go bigger than 2.25. 2 inch will help with the noise, and will help with low end power.

3" is PP and turbo size, too big for even a 13B SP. Not to mention loud as ...., don't ask how I know, lol.

Soo

So imma get 2"

What kind of numbers am i looking at gaining with a full exhaust no cats?

I agree, you don't need more than 2 for N/A motors, but if you're going turbo or even god forbid someone gets a hold of one and decides to swap it; a Renisis swap with a Turbo ^.^ 3 would be the max you'd need to go.

Are you guys running the 2" exhaust tubing on NA rotaries to maintain low end response?

I ask because this doesn't jive with what we find on the racetrack. This includes stock port 12A and street port 12A and 13B engines. For example, my stock port 12A engine had a long tube ISC header (2" tubes) that merge into a 2.5" tube at the axle. The muffler I use is a straight through dyno-max that is packed with lava rocks. Not quiet but this is the best system for the car in terms of lap times and top speed.

I have seen and heard streetable 3" system on a Mazdatrix street port racecar so big tubing and quiet is possible if you use multiple mufflers. This car was just as fast with the quiet system as it was opened up.

Do you guys have dyno numbers?

Scott, you need to come visit. I have a 3" system on the wb, but that was in preperation for a future TII install. Still have those wheels too.
