pilot bearing?
 

So when i did my manual swap on my car, i took my parts car apart and there wasnt a pilot bearing installed, it was just the clutch and the pressure plate ect.....wtf?

Look again, the race may be there and the rest is gone.

NO i mean like all i had was the flywheel, the clutch plate, the forks

isnt there a bearing that should slide into the clutch?

the throwout bearing?

The throwout bearing clips in the clutch fork. Is it still on the tranny input shaft?

OK. So you dropped the tranny (on the manual, not the automatic), removed the clutch pressure plate, the clutch disc, and you're looking at the flywheel, correct? There's a hole in the center of the flywheel (that's the eccentric shaft) and yes there should be a pilot bearing inside. But as trochoid said, the "rollers" in the pilot bearing are probably gone and you are just looking at the outer casing (the race), which make it look like nothing is there. If this is what you are talking about, then click the link below (and yes you'll still have to get the old one out or else the new pilot bearing will deform and be useless when you install it)

Thanks that makes more sence. Now that you speak of it i think they was actually a bearing in there, im just not used to having to worry about pilot bearings. My honda didnt have one. Thanks guys.
